MOVIE DESCRIPTION:

Photo of A Girl Named Sooner The tender, moving story of a young girl who learns the many ways of caring and the healing power of love.
Sooner (Susan Deer) is a young girl being raised by an eccentric and slovenly woman (Cloris Leachman) that sells moonshine in the backwoods of Indiana. It's only after she's taken away by the authorities and given to the childless couple of Mac (Richard Crenna) and Elizabeth McHenry (Lee Remick) that she comes to realize how ignorant she has been of the wider world. The going is difficult, but with patience and understanding, her new parents help her to acclimate to a more civilized life. A heartwarming, made for TV movie that is enjoyable for the whole family and was very popular in the 1970's.
