This is a very well told, heartwarming story of the love and respect between a young boy and his aging Grandfather. Art Carney portrays the sagely Da, whose continuing joy is the time spent with his grandson. Michael Landon plays Hugh at age 50. Considering selling Da's home to a land developer, Hugh is troubled by memories of his grandfather. He thinks back on the fond reminiscences of his relationship with his grandfather in the 1950's Midwest and the time they spent together raising racing pigeons. More importantly, Hugh remembers just how in awe he was of his grandfather's wisdom and how he hung on his every word as Da unraveled some of the mysteries of life...
A very rare movie that is described by many as Michael Landon's best work.
