MOVIE DESCRIPTION:
Photo of The Egyptian DVD A story based on the life and music of Hank Williams Jr., growing up in the shadow of his legendary father, one of the most famous singers in Country Music history. Throughout his early career, Hank Jr. struggles with alcoholism and his domineering mother as he aspires to rise above it all.
Hank Sr. dies while his son Hank Jr. is just a boy and for most of his childhood, his mother puts him on stage to sing his father's material, to capitalize on his father's incredible fame and following. Hank Jr. barely escapes death after from a fall while mountain climbing. While recovering William's has time to think and he finally makes his peace with his father's reputation. In time, finding his own musical voice and success on his own terms.
The movie follows the semi-autobiographical book Living Proof by Michael Bane and Hank Williams Jr.. An enjoyable movie for fans of Hank Williams Jr. and Country Music fans alike.
